Katy Perry Diamond Grills At The 2013 MTV VMAs (PHOTOS)

Katy Perry seems to be following in Madonna's footsteps with her own set of very luxurious mouth bling.

Perry, 28, took to the red carpet at the 2013 MTV VMAs wearing a diamond encrusted grill spelling out the title of her hit single "Roar" on Sunday night in Brooklyn, New York.

The piece of glittering jewellery comes less than a week after Madonna, 55, showed off a similar set of flashy braces in Rome.

But Katy's brand new set of teeth accessory is also obviously a part of her whole "Roar" vision, as she arrived to the red carpet in a raunchy leopard print elegant dress.

According to the New York Daily News, Perry spent over a $1,000 for the diamond grill and was designed by celebrity jewellery maker Paul (The Ice Man) Wall.

Wall reveals that Perry ordered the high-priced teeth adornments in anticipation of her debut live performance of "Roar" at the VMAs.
